Bernie Bracha

_DSC4442 (3)Bernie is a teacher, conductor and consultant who inspires and motivates people of all ages to enjoy practical music making. Whether in the classroom or in the community, all those she works with experience the sheer joy and pleasure of joining others to create music. 

    EDUCATION Bernie has extensive experience of music in schools. She has worked as a Head of Music, Head of Arts and Assistant Headteachers in Nottinghamshire secondary schools for 25 years and is a foundation governor at the Blessed Robert Widmerpool Catholic Voluntary Academy in Nottingham. She can offer advice on a number of different aspects of the music curriculum at all Key Stages, from Foundation stage through to GCSE and A Level, as well as extra curricular activities and events.

Outside the field of music, Bernie is a Leadership Development Coach  for Teaching Leaders, coaching middle leaders in challenging schools across the midlands.


COMMUNITY Having conducted school choirs and directed numerous school and amateur productions, Bernie is keen to promote and lead music in the community. She has a diploma in Choral Directing with the Association of British Choral Directors (ABCD) and has attended courses and workshops with ABCD as well as Making Music and Sing for Pleasure. She is Musical Director of the  Ruddington Community Choir and the Lady Bay Community Choir,  both of which she launched in 2012 with a charity workshop. She also directed the Radcliffe on Trent Male Voice Choir for 4 months while Victoria, the Musical Director, took her maternity leave and still helps out at rehearsals from time to time.
