Rushcliffe Family of Schools Orchestra’s end of term Concert

Well done to all members of the Rushcliffe Family of Schools Orchestra who performed in the end of term concert last Monday, 16 July, to an appreciative audience of family and friends. The orchestra performed three pieces: a stirring arrangement of Star Wars, the more laid-back I Feel Good, starring Millie Somerfield as vocalist, and to finish, a lively rendition of Rock Around the Clock with a solos from Timothy Allen and Ella Curtis on trumpet and clarinet respectively.

The programme was interspersed with further solos: Jacob Simpson played Handel’s March on violin, and classical guitarist Dylan Cornish performed Bad Jack. In addition Ella Curtis and Nicolas Winters gave us a clarinet duet with Jazz 3.

Congratulations toall involved, with special thanks going to parent helpers Liz Gregson and Virginia Simpson, Extended Services Co-ordinator Georgina Ratcliffe and Music for Everyone’s General Manager Su Evans.

After a break for the summer, the orchestra will return to Rushcliffe in September. Watch this space for full details.
