Bracha Music

Community singing for all

About Bernie

Music has been a lifelong passion and I have always loved making music in various choirs, bands, orchestras and musicals. I soon realised that I’m better at encouraging others to perform and a career in education seemed the most obvious way forward.

As a teacher, the most rewarding part of the job was encouraging young people to experience the confidence, sense of achievement and the sheer feel-good factor which comes from singing in a choir or a musical production.  I believe it’s singing with others that really helps build a sense of fun and belonging. Having spent thirty happy years as a teacher, I now work with adults to pass on that same sense of achievement which comes from singing with like-minded people.  You just can’t beat walking out of a choir session feeling uplifted and with songs going round and round in your head!

So this is me: leader of two community choirs and two Tuneless Choirs for those who love to sing but aren’t very good at it. I absolutely love my new career!
